Temple of the Dogs is a boutique home grooming studio based in Frankston, created for dog owners looking for a calmer, more thoughtful alternative to traditional salon grooming.

One-on-one appointments, personalised care and fluffy finishes are kind of our thing.

So… how did this happen?

What started as a mildly unhinged love of dogs slowly evolved into a full-blown grooming obsession.

After years working in marketing and communications, founder Jess decided to swap corporate life for something fluffier - training professionally in dog grooming while building a space focused on calm experiences, quality care and dogs that leave looking outrageously good.

Temple of the Dogs was created with a simple idea: grooming appointments shouldn’t feel chaotic, rushed or clinical.

Every dog deserves patience, kindness and someone who notices the tiny details - whether that’s perfectly trimmed schnauzer brows or the exact level of fluff required for maximum neighbourhood attention.

The Temple approach

At Temple, grooming is intentionally one-on-one and thoughtfully paced to help dogs feel safe, comfortable and confident throughout the process.

That means:

  • No crowded salon environment

  • No banks of cages

  • No conveyor-belt grooming

  • No rushing dogs through appointments

Just personalised care, premium products and plenty of reassurance for nervous little clients (and sometimes their parents).

The Science Meets the Scissors

Beautiful grooming is about more than a great haircut. It starts with understanding dogs - their behaviour, anatomy, breed characteristics and individual needs. I’m committed to continuing professional development so every dog who visits Temple benefits from gentle, informed and up-to-date care.
